Cardiology

Cardiology is the science that deals with cardiovascular diseases. It aims to produce solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in your heart and especially the arterial system.

The heart is responsible for ensuring blood circulation. The heart consists mainly of bloodpumping muscle tissue, the neural network that provides electrical activity and continuous functioning, four valves that provide blood orientation, large veins that go out of the heart to the lungs, and the vessels called the coronary vein that feeds the heart tissue. There is also a pericardium, which envelops the heart, fixes and protects it. Heart diseases are also problems that occur in these structures. The main disease titles can be classified as heart muscle diseases, heart valve diseases, heart rhythm diseases, coronary artery disease, major vascular diseases, heart membrane diseases and heart tumours.

Cardiology also includes diseases of the arteries and veins that enable the organs in our body to perform their functions as vascular diseases. Stenosis and blockages due to arteriosclerosis in the arteries are examined under the title of peripheral artery disease. Cardiology is responsible for interventional opening of arterial obstructions and regulation of drug therapy. Cardiology also offers diagnosis and treatment in coagulation occurring in coronary veins.
